Minas is Here

Villa Rica Pousada Boutique is born as a tribute to the origins of the rich villages of Minas Gerais, especially the city of Ouro Preto, which was initially called Vila Rica. The region boasts special and diverse mining characteristics within the so-called iron quadrangle, one of the richest areas in Brazil.

Even before reaching the lands of Vila Rica (now Ouro Preto) in the 16th century, the Bandeirantes explorers began traversing the current region of the State of Minas Gerais in search of gold. The path they used to reach the lands of gold passed right here, where we are, in the Paraopeba Valley region, within the municipality of Brumadinho.

Inspired by these colonial characteristics and the surrounding mountains, Villa Rica Pousada Boutique has combined in one place the hospitality, cuisine, and art of Minas Gerais.

There’s nothing better than staying at our inn, amidst lush nature, tranquility, and coziness that only our accommodations can provide. And while here, you can also visit two icons of Minas: Ouro Preto and Belo Horizonte. We are strategically located between these two cities, which are must-sees on your travel itinerary! Learn more about them below:

Ouro Preto

Ouro Preto stands out among Brazil’s historic cities for its Baroque ensemble, considered the largest in the world, built during the gold rush by the most important masters of Baroque art and architecture, including the Minas-born Aleijadinho and Mestre Athayde.

One of the best ways to explore is by walking the stone-paved streets and hills of Ouro Preto, accompanied by the guides from HT Happy Travel, while admiring the colonial houses. There are hundreds of buildings—the simplest houses with a door and two windows, townhouses with several entrances and decorated balconies, palaces, chapels, hermitages, and churches.

Belo Horizonte

Belo Horizonte is a city that will surprise you! Today, its tourist opportunities range from history to business, wellness tourism to culture, and cuisine, always with the hallmark of Minas Gerais’ tradition and hospitality.

Speaking of hospitality, the people of Minas are masters at finding the most playful ways to do things. Beagá, or Belô, as it’s affectionately called, embodies the Minas Gerais soul well. The city is home to the Pampulha Modern Ensemble, recognized as a World Heritage Site, and holds the title of UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.

With HT Happy Travel, you’ll truly experience the tourist attractions of BH, understanding the rich history behind each detail, providing a cultural experience that will leave you even more in love with Minas Gerais.
